The premium primer is no longer needed as the technology is incorporated into all the paints.
All our coatings are designed to provide you with the following: a cleaner safer in room air quality, help for the chemically sensitive, Safe around children and pets, while also being very durable and providing more vibrancy in our colors due to our exclusive colorant system which we manufacture too. The main reason for its use is to protect you and your loved ones if painting, even if you are not sure what paint was previously applied. On a positive note, you don’t have to purchase a separate primer using our paints. We incorporated a very effective and safe primer technology into the paints which actually works unlike the commercial brands. So, now you can paint and prime at the same time and not have to be concerned about the known carcinogens that ate in all the other brand primers.
This concern for your health was developed as the majority of commercial paints are high in petrochemicals, and as all paints are engineered the same in that they must slightly emulsify/rejuvenate the underlying paint for good adhesion for top performance. If they did not do this, they would peel off in less than a year. This process unfortunately brings the old chemicals back to life and if it had an alkyd material there could be a chemical reactiveness which will produce and off gas formaldehyde. The Agri-Paint line prevents this from taking place as long as it is applied correctly per our guidelines.
To use Agri-Paint as a primer over an existing paint or over new construction, you need to do one of the following:
For pre-painted surfaces or all new construction, simply apply the paint as thin as possible over the surface. There is no need to concern yourself about hiding; you just want an extremely thin coat over the surface. For example, paint is normally applied at 4 to 12 mils thickness; when using AgriPaint as a primer, you only want it to be applied at 1 to 2 mills thick. Then let it dry for 2 to 4 days before applying the top coat. The delay between coats is to allow the underlying paint to cure again or for all new construction it is to allow the compounds to dry again.
For patchwork, simply apply a thin coat over the patch areas and allow them to dry for 2 to 4 days. Then apply the top coat as you would any other paint.
