The following information is based on the FR1400 being applied into the system at a rate of 1 gallon per 10 Bbls for friction reducer and sand transportation. During short trips
a concentration of 2 gallons per 10 Bbls was used. Short trips were made at a frequency as required to maintain hole condition. Normal frequency for short trips is after every 2 plugs drilled. It should be noted that no special hydration or mixing equipment was used during operations.

Notes: Contact was made late one evening by the customer who was on location in North LA. and had been trying to get plugs drilled out for several days. Because of high well head pressures and extended well length the coiled tubing pump pressure had increased to in excess of 9,000 Psi. The pump friction reducers that they were using would not work with the 10# Brine fluid that they were using to circulate the well. The customer had become concerned that the high circulating pressure would cause the pipe to yield if they encountered stalls with the down hole motor. A tote of the FR 1400 was dispatched to the location and arrived within two hours. Before the driver had left the location they had already began pumping the FR 1400 and the pressure had already began dropping. The driver noted that the customer had two trailers on location filled with every type of FR made. The customer called the next morning and said they were finished and thanked us for our help and quick response and stated that the FR 1400 was the only friction reducer that would actually work with the 10# Brine.

Notes: FR 1400 was used on this well. The well had an up dip from the heel to the toe. Computer model indicated that potential lock up could exist. Pump pressures were below expected levels.

Also, the Motor Hand showed the bearings on the mud motor. It was stated that “the use of the FR1400 had extended the life of the bearings substantially, and that a life cycle
of 600 hours was reached”
. The Motor Hand said “I’ve never seen anything like this, you’re chemical got more life out of these bearings than I have ever seen”.

The customer consulted with the owners after the job reached completion to inform them of the BOP Rams. The FR1400 increased the life of the RAM Seals by four times what
they would have normally been.

Notes: FR 1400 was used on this well. This well was described as being friction locked during work over operations. The Completions Engineer called on a Sunday afternoon saying they have tried every method they have, and every chemical they have at their disposal, but still remain friction locked. The Completions Engineer said “if you’re chemical doesn’t work, we are out of resources.

It was decided to use our FR 1400 to circulate during the remainder of the operation. It was mixed 1 gallon to 10 Bbl., and once the well was circulated with 1400, the friction was reduced by 6 fold. Quicksilver was able to regain circulation, reach bottom, and finish drilling the remaining plugs and had no further problems disbursing the pipe in and out of the well. On a further note, it was observed that the returns seemed filled with more particles from the well, cleaning the well more efficient.

Quicksilver Resources have said “they have reached bottom every time they’ve used the FR1400.

Notes: FR 1400 was used on this well. Classic was facing several issues with CT operations, one being drill time of plugs and overall operation problems. It was determined that they would give our product a shot, to see if things would run smoother. After using our FR 1400, mixed ½ gallon to 10 barrels as circulating fluid, overall operations were improved and drill times were cut in half. For example on this well, CT was rigged up the evening prior to the start of the job. The next day they began in the hole at 0730 and drilled all 6 plugs and were out of the hole and rigged down by 1500. -Not bad

Notes: During a recent operation in PA Warrior Coiled Tubing while working on a Novus well experienced a pump pressure reduction from 5,600 psi to 3,900 psi when switching from Quantum FR to Coil Chem FR 1400. The pressure reduction was substantial enough that the FRs were switched back and forth between the two several times to verify the results.
